a collage of colours been replaced by a sight
of plainess and despare, of emptiness and light
the birds, they used to sing there, even in the dead of night

The ghost of yesterday has hardly left a trace
The trees have been found guilty of being in the wrong place

The trees could not run when the birds took to flight
And I can't help feeling that this act was not right
The trees are our friends and the trees cannot fight

And now all that is gone, they are just memories
Concrete and glass has replaced all the trees
And in the breeze of the evening once the rustle of leaves were heard
But now the silence is heavy, not a solitary bird
